My Favourite improved even more

My favourite digital music source to date has been the XACT S1 which is the worlds first fully linear powered computer based music server that I reviewed earlier this year.  XACT is a product lined designed by JCAT’s Marcin Ostapowicz. I have a decade of history building dedicated computer based music servers and often what the DIY guys are doing is years ahead of the mainstream.  That is where XACT is offering something different, the S1 music server was built with a custom motherboard that you cannot buy as a DIY builder that is fully linear powered with no switching components on it at all. That being said there has been some developments in the DIY world that might create that separation again and that is where the new XACT S1 EVO Music Server comes in.

XACT S1 EVO Music Server: Uncompromised Sound Quality
The XACT S1 EVO is an evolutionary product with several key enhancements said to improve sound quality.  The first is whats called the Master OCXO Clock, which is an in house developed 20Mhz product not seen before in a music server application to the best of my knowledge.

PHANTOM™ Music Drive Cable

The next improvement is the inclusion of a new music drive cable built using the same high-quality materials and precision craftsmanship as the XACT
PHANTOM™ USB and LAN cables.  These are laboriously hand built cables using copper conductors and a specific build geometry.

IMMOTUS™ ceramic-aluminum isolation footers

A key innovation with the S1 EVO is the introduction of the IMMOTUS™ ceramic- aluminium isolation footers. The footers are designed to channel internal vibrations away from sensitive audio components, said to improve the audio quality more.

Then a product line has been realsed from XACT called the PHANTOM™ USB and LAN Cables:
The cables are Handcrafted with painstaking attention to detail, each cable takes over 7 hours to produce, utilising high-purity
copper conductors and custom connectors such as the MFP8 IE GOLD RJ45 connectors fromTelegaertner
